Countertops

While we strive to accurately capture the colors and patterns of our stones on our website, photographs may not fully convey their true beauty. To ensure you find the perfect countertop of your dreams, we recommend visiting our showroom to experience the stone in person. Additionally, we offer free samples that you can take home, allowing you to see how the stone looks in your own space.

We treat all of our natural granite countertops with a 15-year impregnating sealer at the time of installation. This premium sealer provides exceptional stain protection, allowing you time to clean up spills.

Yes. Natural granite is very unpredictable in its color and pattern variation and can vary greatly from slab to slab or lot to lot. To be assured that all of your countertops will match the correct color and pattern, please purchase all tops at the same time. You can view our selection on-site to make sure you are getting exactly what you like!

While quartz is a man-made product-it can vary from lot to lot in color. To be assured that all of your countertops will match the correct color and pattern, please purchase all tops at the same time.

Soapstone is quarried much like granite. The mineral makeup of this stone gives it a warm soft look. It is non-porous and is impervious to virtually any type of chemical, but it is much softer and easier to scratch.

Natural granite will be able to tolerate direct heat due to its natural properties. Quartz is a man-made surface and while durable, can be scorched by a hot pot directly placed on it. With either material, please be advised that leaving a slow cooker or other heated appliance over a seam for an extended period of time may result in the seam “popping” or separating.

Our skilled fabricators and installers use techniques to make the seam as inconspicuous as the color and pattern allow.

Quartz & natural granite have a 1 ¼” (3cm) nominal thickness. There are quartz countertops that can be milled down or ordered in a ¾” (2cm) thickness. Porcelain is 1.2cm or 2cm in thickness.

For either quartz or natural granite countertops, we do recommend using a cutting board for your needs to protect your purchase and to keep your knives sharp. Cutting directly on quartz or natural granite can eventually degrade the seal on the surface, allowing food substances to get past the surface and bacteria to accumulate.

We only charge you for the material needed to fabricate your specific job. You may choose to purchase the same color for all rooms to guarantee your color matches across lots. If you decide to purchase and install your bathrooms or smaller countertops at a later date, we do offer a variety of quartz and natural granite remnants at a great value!

Laser technology is used to measure accurate dimensions of your room and cabinets. This ensures a precise fit of your stone top.

What you need to know:

We template for tops once the cabinets are permanently installed in new construction. For remodel (new tops only – keeping existing cabinets), we prefer that the old countertops are removed. This allows for the most accurate templating and the best fit of the new countertops.

All sinks, faucets, soap dispensers, and anything that will require a cutout in the countertop must be at the job site or in our showroom prior to templating.

Installation typically takes 1 day to complete based on the size and location of your project. There are instances where a countertop installation may take 2 days, depending on the availability of installers.

In certain instances, your backsplash may require an additional trip to be templated and installed approximately 7-10 business days after countertop installation.

We utilize a laser template system that will electronically measure your cabinets & apply overhangs to create a computerized template for your countertops. Here are a few additional items to be aware of prior to templating your countertop:

  • A final decision maker should be on-site at the template appointment to approve locations of faucets, soap dispensers, etc., and to aid our templater with any design questions they may have.

  • Cabinets need to be completely installed, and secured to the walls, including fillers/end panels and decorative panels. Cabinets must be level within a 1/8” over a ten-foot run and plumb (front to back).

  • If you have existing countertops installed, they are to be removed before the templater arrives, unless prior arrangements have been made at the time of purchase.

  • Cooktop, slide-in range, sinks, and faucets provided by the homeowner, or anything else that requires a hole drilled through your new countertops, must be on-site, and placed in their respective room(s).

  • If you have a farm or apron front sink, your cabinets must be notched with the sink set in place before the templater appointment.

  • Please make sure there are clear paths in and out of the workspace. Occasionally, we will need appliances to be moved out of their installed places for templating/installation.

  • Customer will be responsible for scheduling plumbing & electrical hook-up before and after countertop installation (includes all appliances, sinks & faucets). You must wait 24 hours before connecting plumbing or electrical.

  • Estimated time between templating and countertop installation is approximately 10-15 business days.

We offer quartz, natural granite, or porcelain backsplash. Backsplashes can be customized in height from the standard 4” backsplash to full height backsplash. Our backsplash options provide an alternative from tile & grout to help with a seamless transition from countertop to wall with easy cleaning.
