Cabinet Builder

Reports to: Wood Shop Team Leader
FLSA Class: Non-Exempt
SUMMARY
This position is responsible for all functions listed below as a general laborer within the Mette Cabinet Corner, Inc. wood shop production facility, while working as a team to ensure orders are produced accurately and efficiently.
DUTIES
- Participate in regular safety training and follow safety guidelines for material handling, fabrication, equipment operations, tools, etc. including use of provided personal protective equipment.
- Complete various stages of cabinet making (i.e. cut, boring, edge banding, doweling, sanding, assembly, stain and finish, etc.) using the appropriate tools and materials while following manufacturer and company procedures.
- Read customer orders, work orders, or requisitions in order to produce, quality control inspect, and/or load material.
- Ensure shop is accessible, organized, and safe and keep traffic areas clear.
- Maintain production equipment and tools according to manufacturer specifications and report maintenance requirements to the wood shop production team leader.
- Assist with special projects assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with strong mathematical aptitude.
- Ability to accurately read, interpret, and follow documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and work orders.
- Knowledge of and ability to use and maintain power tools and tape measures.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more on a regular basis and stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to work in a warm, humid environment.
- Ability to work as a team player.
- Must be minimum 18 years of age.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
SCHEDULING
The normal working hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The schedule is subject to change with production demands. Overtime is required when requested.
PAY RANGE
$19.00-$24.00 depending on experience and qualifications.
