CNC Machine Operator

This position is responsible for all functions listed below as a general laborer within the Mette Cabinets & Countertops wood shop production facility, while working as a team to ensure orders are produced accurately and efficiently.


Duties
  1. Complete various stages of fabrication (i.e. layout, cutting, CNC, boring, edge banding, doweling, sanding, assembly, stain and finish, etc.) using the appropriate tools and materials while following manufacturer and company procedures.
  2. Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, and requisitions in order to program, produce, quality control inspect, and/or load material.
  3. Maintain production equipment and tools according to manufacturer specifications and report maintenance requirements to the wood shop production team leader.
  4. Participate in regular safety training and follow safety guidelines for material handling, fabrication, equipment operations, tools, etc. including use of provided personal protective equipment.
  5. Ensure shop is accessible, organized, and safe, as well as keeping traffic areas clear.
  6. Assist with special projects assigned by management.
  7. Clean, organize and process improvement done daily.
Qualifications
  1. High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with strong mathematical aptitude.
  2. Ability to accurately read, interpret, and follow documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and work orders.
  3. Knowledge of and ability to use and maintain power tools and tape measures.
  4. Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more on a regular basis and stand for long periods of time.
  5. Ability to work in a warm, humid environment.
  6. Ability to work as a team player.
  7. Must be minimum 18 years of age and have a valid driver’s license.
  8. Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
  9. Fork lift certification or experience is a plus.
Scheduling

The normal working hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The schedule is subject to change with production demands. Overtime is required when requested.
